Lithography – invented in 1798 – meant a revolution for the amplified image. In the beginning of reproduction in many forms and contexts. Eventually also for image as an artistic expression. As graphic art, poster, magazine picture. Goya and Daumier’s early champions. The method quickly spread across Europe and throughout the world. Also in Sweden.
